Opposition Parties To Merger A Sure Thing, Till Then Buhari Doesnt Know Fate.

The ACN, CPC, ANPP and others are in merger talks to challenge the ruling PDP in 2015. Leader of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, yesterday stated that there is no going back on the party’s merger talks with other opposition political parties. National chairman, All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, declared that the party has since weaned itself from its relationship with the PDP, he said the ANPP was ready and driving merger talks to wrestle power from the PDP in 2015. “Nigeria needs change and Nigerians deserve change and we will do everything necessary to bring about that change,” Onu said.

ACN chieftain and former PDP national chairman Audu Ogbeh said since 1999 the country’s political parties have been bereft of clear and sustained manifesto. According to Ogbeh, the planned merger of opposition parties should have as its foundation a clearly articulated manifesto to bring Nigeria out of its present political, economic and related state.
“The new party will decide my fate in the 2015 general elections. It will be up to the party after being merged, whether I shall be given the ticket and then it will be left for me to accept or not,” Buhari said.
He also revealed that the proposed merger by opposition parties may become real by June this year, all things being equal.
Buhari’s comments came just as it emerged that the All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, may not be part of the proposed merger; only the CPC and ACN are in the merger talks. Would you vote for this party after they merge. ACN's score card hasnt been so great esp for those along the Lexxi-Epe axis so based on that they might not get Lagos State so the merger might work in their favour.
